Evangelist Steve Pettit is widely known as a strong Bible preacher,
emphasizing revival and evangelism. He has conducted hundreds of
evangelistic campaigns throughout the United States and numerous
foreign countries since 1985. Having worked with teenagers for nearly
30 years, he has spent his summers preaching in fundamental youth camps
across America. From 1982 to 2002, he served as the camp evangelist of
Northland Camp and Conference Center . Since 2002, he has served as the
director of the camp.
Steve is a native of Columbia, SC, and was converted to Christ at the
age of nineteen while a freshman at The Citadel, the military college
of SC. He surrendered to the call to preach, and upon his graduation in
1978, he enrolled at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where he
received a masters degree in pastoral studies in 1980. After serving as
the youth pastor at First Baptist Church, Bridgeport, MI, for five
years, Steve, along with his family began traveling as an evangelist.
In 1997 he received honorary doctorates from Bob Jones University,
Northland Baptist Bible College, and Ambassador Baptist Bible College.
In 1980 he married his lovely wife, Terry, and they now have three
adult children: Rebecca, Rachel, Stephen, and Michael (13).
The meetings are geared for the entire family and beautiful music is provided each evening by his team.
