We said goodbye to sunny South Florida and headed 800 miles to the cold north in Huntsville area of northeast Alabama. This was our third meeting with the Calvary Baptist Church and Dr. Greg McLaughlin. Though the weather was very wet and cold, the people came out, the crowds were outstanding, and the overall week was wonderful.

We had a fully scheduled program in the Christian day school with an all day Cola War for the 7th-12th grades. We had an outstanding outreach with the teens on Thursday though it was a very wet night. Over 160 teens came out for the activities and 15 trusted Christ as their personal Savior. It was a joy to serve with the youth pastor, Derrick Suttles, and the school principal, Dirk Crawford. Friday night was a full house with a larger crowd that what we had on Sunday morning. It was very encouraging to see the large adult crowd who came out for the pre-service study in “Walking in the Spirit.” We enjoyed seeing Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Whitt. They are the parents of our camp manager, Paul Whitt, at Northland Camp. We were glad to be able to renew our friendship.

I want to particularly express my gratitude to Pastor McLaughlin. He has a very solid, stable ministry. He has been a faithful preacher and God has blessed him. I enjoy His fellowship and example. We also enjoyed fellowshipping with my good friend, Dr. Bud Steadman, president of Baptist World Mission. We were able to fellowship with him and his dear wife, Ruth, after the evening service. We look forward to the opportunity to return, Lord willing, back to Calvary Baptist in 2014.
